Drawing of a House
In the Izrael Valley, a private house was planned and designed on a plot consisting of two terraces, facing the view of the valley and Mount Carmel. The topography of the plot gave birth to the planning concept – the concept of the iconic “house”. The house is a graphic sculptural element and gives a new interpretation to the “house” as children draw. The property owners, a couple in their seventies, dreamed of a home that allows for shared family hospitality yet intimacy.
The house consists of two floors; the entrance floor, which is the top, envelops a garden and contains the main entrance that separates the accommodation unit from the public space. In the main space, the kitchen functions as a partition and separates the living room from the master suite, which also overlooks the slopes of the Izrael Valley. The lower floor has been designed and planned as a large guest apartment containing a kitchen living room, family corner and bedroom. The whole house actually consists of two separate iconic houses with the entrance space connecting them. The shell materials of the house are a combination of black corrugated iron and steel construction, exposed concrete and glass.
